 By Land: RORO bus at Araneta Center The roro bus (roro bus of Montenegro and Isarog bus line) in Araneta terminal (the old Rustan’s) leaves for Masbate between 1 pm to 6 pm. The bus fare is P1,200.00. Travel time is approximately 11 hours.

By Air: PAL/PAL Express direct flight to Masbate. Fares vary depending on the season, and depending on how early or late you book your flight.

By Air, Land and Ferry: Any flight to Legazpi. Land travel to Pilar, Sorsogon. Ferry at Pilar, Sorsogon.

  1. Buntod Reef Marine Sanctuary

It is ranked as the Philippines’ second most resilient coral reef area in terms of broad-scale and local-scale factors (Bucol, 2011). It occupies 20 hectares of core zone and 100 hectares of buffer zone. From the wharf in Rendezvous Hotel, tthe boat will take you to the sanctuary for 15 minutes with Bantay Dagat staffs (SAMAPUSI members) as boatmen and guides.



  1. Pawa Mangrove Nature Park

It is considered as the City’s biggest area of natural mangrove growth. Experience the dramatic of the 300 hectares of Mangrove Plantation along its 1.3km boardwalk. Constructed in 2005, this walkway was intended primarily to serve as an alternative route for community members. Later, as the coastal road was developed, the walkway become less accessed as a route. With this establishment of the mangrove part this walkway was transformed into a tourism facility.


  1. Bugsayon Marine Sanctuary

It is a 50-hectare marine sanctuary located in Barangay B. Titong which served as the home to different live corals and aquatic species. In 2011, it was ranked as the “Top Most Marine Sanctuary in the Central Philippines with High Resiliency to Climate Change” by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
